Budget 2023 Highlights

The income tax limit has been raised to 7 lakhs.

Tax slabs have been introduced with rates of 5% for 3-6 lakhs, 10% for 6-9 lakhs, 15% for 9-12 lakhs, 20% for 12-15 lakhs and 30% for those above 15 lakhs.

100 new labs will be set up for 5G research.

Special focus will be given to the tourism sector.
Municipal corporations will be able to raise bonds.

50 new airports will be built.

Rs. 9000 crore will be allocated for MSMEs.

PAN card will be accepted as a valid identification document.

Rs. 75000 crore will be spent on transportation infrastructure.

Rs. 10,000 crore will be spent on renewable energy development.

Rs. 2.4 lac crore will be spent on railway expenses.

157 new medical colleges will be opened, out of which 140 will be nursing colleges.

The savings limit for senior citizens has been raised to 30 lakhs.

Women will receive 7.5% interest on their savings of 2 lakhs for two years.

The limit on Monthly Income Account has been raised to 9 lakhs from 4.5 lakhs.

Televisions, mobiles, e-cars, and bicycles will become cheaper.

Three new IA centers will be established.
Gold, platinum, silver, cigarettes, and kitchen chimneys will become expensive
