Samsung unveils new ISOCELL HP2 200MP camera sensor, set to debut in upcoming Galaxy S23 Ultra

Samsung has introduced a new camera sensor, the ISOCELL HP2, which is its third 200MP sensor.
The ISOCELL HP2 sensor is likely to debut with the upcoming Galaxy S23 Ultra.
The new sensor features 0.6 μm 200 million pixels in a 1/1.3-inch size.
Samsung claims that the sensor will deliver a higher resolution image without increasing the size of camera bumps in high-end smartphones.
The ISOCELL HP2 sensor comes with "Tetra2Pixel" pixel bin technology that can simulate different pixel sizes depending on the light.
In low-light environments, the HP2 can bin 4-to-1 for 1.2μm pixels at 50MP or 16-to-1 for 2.4μm pixels at 12.5MP.
The sensor can shoot up to 8K 30 fps videos in 50MP.
The HP2 sensor improves low-light photography.
It promises "sharp cinematic videos."
The ISOCELL HP2 sensor will likely be used in the upcoming Galaxy S23 Ultra.
